Additional State Capitol Closures Necessary
Replacement of electrical equipment well underway, but additional time needed

DES MOINES —Electrical work on Iowa’s State Capitol building to replace high voltage electrical equipment went well over the past weekend. This work will continue through this weekend and may possibly be scheduled for more. Subsequently, the Capitol will be closed to the public and employees again this weekend – Saturday, October 27 – Monday, October 29 at 6 a.m.

Depending on the progress of work on October 27-28, additional weekend closings may be necessary. Notice regarding additional closings beyond October 27-28 will be provided if necessary.
