Additional State Capitol Closures Necessary
Replacement of electrical equipment well underway, but additional time needed

DES MOINES — Electrical work on Iowa’s State Capitol building to replace high voltage electrical equipment went well and as planned over the past weekend. This work will continue through this weekend and may possibly be scheduled for more. Subsequently, the Capitol will be closed to the public and employees again this weekend – Saturday, November 3 – Monday, November 5 at 6 a.m.

Depending on the progress of work on November 3-4, additional weekend closings may be necessary. Notice regarding additional closings beyond November 3-4 will be provided if necessary.
